Raven Delta company, RDM Electrical & Mechanical Services, is proud to have worked on the successful completion of the TrawsCymru T1 project, which aims to improve transport links in the region and provide a more sustainable travel option for local residents and tourists alike.

Working with main contractor TRJ Construction on behalf of Carmarthenshire County Council, RDM was awarded the contract to undertake the delivery of mechanical and electrical services to the new bus charging facility near the showground in Carmarthen. In collaboration with RDM’s sister-company, EFT Consult, design was developed from Stage 3 and comprised four 150kW rapid bus chargers and a new driver rest and meeting facility, which is powered by an 8kW solar PV array.

Our expertise and experience meant we were well-equipped to handle the project’s complex requirements and deliver high-quality solutions that met the project’s goals.

Overview:

The TrawsCymru T1 project is a Welsh government initiative aimed at improving transport infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The project involves the implementation of a new bus service that will connect towns and cities in Mid and South Wales, providing a more sustainable travel option for commuters, tourists, and locals alike. The T1 route covers a distance of 116 miles, running from Aberystwyth in West Wales to Cardiff in the south.

Scope of work:

Our involvement in the TrawsCymru T1 project saw us providing a range of electrical and mechanical services to support the project’s infrastructure. The scope of work included:

  • Design and installation of four 150kW rapid bus chargers.
  • Design and installation of power and lighting systems in new driver rest area.
  • Installation of renewable energy systems, including energy-efficient lighting powered by an 8kW solar PV array to reduce the carbon footprint of the project.
